Silveira House Jesuit Social Justice and Development Centre recently took a leading role in the first quarter NGO Forum of 2026, held at the Mutoko Rural District Council Board Room. The forum brought together development organisations working across the district to share insights, highlight successes, discuss challenges, and strengthen collaborative action for local communities.
As chair of the forum, Silveira House facilitated discussions that focused on advancing human rights, governance, education, and community empowerment. Participating organisations celebrated achievements over the past quarter, including improving access to education, empowering women and youth, promoting sustainable practices, and protecting natural resources. The forum also provided a platform to explore practical solutions to challenges such as limited funding, resource constraints, and sustaining community engagement—fostering stronger collaboration and shared strategies among participants.
Beyond sharing updates, the forum served as a space to amplify the voices of development actors and advocate for coordinated action on key social issues. Recommendations from the forum emphasized the importance of building partnerships, investing in capacity development, promoting sustainability, and enhancing advocacy initiatives—all aimed at creating long-term positive change in the communities served.
Through its leadership role, Silveira House demonstrated its commitment to fostering collaboration, supporting development actors, and driving initiatives that strengthen resilience and improve lives. By bringing together organisations, sharing knowledge, and promoting joint action, the forum reinforced the value of coordinated efforts in creating sustainable, inclusive, and impactful development outcomes for the people of Mutoko and surrounding areas.
Events like this NGO forum highlight the power of partnerships, the importance of learning from peers, and the role of collaboration in ensuring communities are empowered, resilient, and able to thrive in the face of social, economic, and environmental challenges.
